Eeeeeeeeesh, what a day!
It all started this morning when I was walking to work listening to my music, spotted Shannon walking towards me, waved, lost my balance and slipped on the ice (my arms are long and disrupt my center of gravity more than they would the average person).
On leaving work a police car that was parked opposite the entrance pulled up beside me and started trailing me, really obviously, for about two minutes. I was watching the passenger as he was looking at me taking notes, then he said something to the driver, nodded, and sped off. I hope it's nothing to do with *********. It was pretty unnerving.
After that brush with zee law I decided to ride the subway home. Now, when I'm sitting on the train I always put the strap of my bag over my right leg, except this time part of it had slipped down my shin and got tangled up with my foot so when I stood up it locked and I just toppled forwards, I made a grab for the pole, missed by about a foot and went crashing into the lap of an old lady (I'll take whatever I can get right now).
After that excitement I decided to stop in at Active Surplus to find a way of converting this (with a 9 pin serial DB9 RS232 at the other end, which needs to remain) into this.. looks simple, right?
Well, it's effing not!
I ended up walking round the place for about an hour, and finally came up with a solution that didn't involve the original incorrect cable at all..
9 pin serial female to 8 pin female Mac mini-din crossover converter, 8 pin male Mac mini-din to 25 pin serial female, 25 pin serial female to male converter, 25 pin male to 9 pin serial male converter, finally a 9 pin female to 4 pin male mini-din. – I typed that out utterly wrong the first time.. I was tired!
Then when I arrived at the checkout I realised I only had six dollars on me and all that came to twenty.
Oh well, it kept me out of trouble. Now I have to edit boobs!
