Want to hear something terrible?

A few weeks/a month ago CST and I made friends with a man who worked at the garden centre and asked him if we could take some cuttings from a spider plant..

Well, the plants languished in a couple of bowls in my bathroom for a while because I kept forgetting to get a pot and some soil.

One morning I had a brainwave so asked Shannon if I could pinch a pot (complete with soil) from his balcony.

Anyway, to cut a long story short the plants wilted and turned brown about eight hours after they were placed in their new home.

Why?

Probably because that particular pot used to be used as an ashtray and I suspect the nicotine permeated through the soil and poisoned them.

There's a happy ending though, I swapped the muck out for fresh stuff and they seem to be doing ok now, after an intensive course of nicotine replacement therapy and some soothing music/words.
