The first time I spoke to my 'landlady' on the phone I got the impression she was quite lonely.. I was right, poor sausage.

From what she's told me all her family live in Australia and for five years or so she's been trying to raise enough money to get back there, working twelve hours a day/six days a week in a factory making candles.

If I have to be somewhere I try to leave my apartment half an hour ealier than necessary so she's got someone to chat with and doesn't get the impression I haven't got time for her.

I wish there was something else I could do though, if I'm still here over Christmas she'll get a cuddle and a present.. actually even if I've moved I'll trundle over and surprise her, whether it's Christmas or not.
